Dreamscape Modern Homes
We have always been passionate about modern architecture. Traveling the world, we have had the pleasure of seeing many of the great case study houses in person; standing in their hallways and bathing in their natural light. To see them in person helped me translate the academic ideas of modern architecture to a real world application. Inspired by the likes of Breuer, Corbusier, Kahn, Meier, Mies van der Rohe and Wright we have tried to continue in their spirit while adding our own voice to the vernacular of the modern movement.
Our first hands on experience was the restoration of the 520 Station House. Built in 1961 near Philadelphia, PA., this iconic Mid Century house was designed by an architect who was trained by the famous Louis Kahn, one of the most influential modern architects in history. We renovated and restored the 2,500 sq. ft. residence back to its original splendor. Additionally we added a 65’ x 8’ cortan steel panel waterfall and reflecting pool that completed the inside-outside demeanor of the house.
The house won Philly’s prestigious 'Gold Brick"preservation award and has been featured several times in architectural media, The Philadelphia Inquirer and has been the perfect backdrop location for several fashion photo shoots.
“I believe that architecture has the power to inspire, to elevate the spirit, to feed both the mind and the body. It is for me, the most public of arts”
— Richard Meier, my favorite architect
